Every Nest and Needle pillow is crafted by hand with care. With the proper attention, your throw and lumbar pillows will retain their shape, color, and tailored finish for years.
Each pillow features a zippered cover, which allows the pillow case to be removed and laundered separately from the pillow form. Please follow the instructions below to keep your piece looking its best.
Laundering Your Pillow Case
1. Remove the Pillow Form. Unzip the pillow case completely. Carefully slide the pillow form out of the case and set it aside.
2. Turn the Case Inside Out. Gently pull the pillow case inside out. This protects the fabric surface, seams, and decorative details during washing. Close the zipper before washing to protect both the zipper and the fabric.
3. Wash on a Gentle, Cold Cycle. Launder the pillow case on the gentle or delicate cycle using cold water. We recommend a mild detergent. Please avoid bleach and harsh stain removers, which may damage the fabric or fade its color.
4. Dry with Care. Lay the pillow case flat or hang it to air dry. You may also tumble dry on a low heat setting. Avoid high heat, which may cause shrinkage or affect the fabric’s finish.
5. Reassemble Your Pillow. Once the pillow case is completely dry, turn it right side out. Gently press out the corners, insert the pillow form, and close the zipper.
Caring for Your Pillow Form
The pillow form should not be washed with the pillow case. To refresh it, fluff the form regularly and allow it to air out in a well-ventilated space. Small spots may be treated with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap.
Everyday Care
Fluff Regularly. A gentle fluff and plump each week helps your pillows maintain their shape and fullness.
Protect from Direct Sunlight. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause fabrics to fade. Rotate your pillows periodically to keep their color even.
Address Spills Promptly. Blot spills right away with a clean, dry cloth. Avoid rubbing, which may spread the stain or damage the fabric.
Check Your Care Label. Some fabrics require special handling. Always review the care label included with your piece before laundering.
